BACKGROUND:
Ben 10 wiki
At the age of ten Gwen's life was changed by a summer long camping trip with her favorite grandpa and her annoying cousin Ben. On the first night camping Ben found a weird alien watch and ended up with it attached to his wrist. From that point on Gwen's summer was changed in that she and their grandpa Max started helping him learn to become a great superhero.
During that same summer they came across a pair of magically inclined villains who wanted to take over the world. Their names were Charmcaster and her uncle Hex. While Gwen tried to befriend Charmcaster and rescue her from her uncle Hex (a story that Charmcaster told Gwen in order to get control of the Charm of Bazel that Gwen had accidentally gotten), Charmcaster betrayed them and gave the charm to her uncle. This first encounter ended with Gwen destroying the Charms of Bazel and becoming the enemy of both Hex and Charmcaster.
Charmcaster and Gwen encountered one another several more times, one time resulting in Gwen gaining Charmcaster's spell book and beginning to study the spells within. She found she had an overwhelming affinity with magic and quickly learned everything within the spell book to a point where she rarely needed the book itself to cast. On top of this her budding Anodite powers were starting to manifest. Although she had no idea that these were an alien birthright from her grandmother due to the fact that her grandpa never bothered to tell anyone that their grandma was an alien.
Once Ben managed to get the Omnitrix removed, things returned to normal for him. Gwen however, continued to cultivate both her magic and her Anodite powers. The more she worked with them the better she got. She also became better at martial arts and continued to excel at her studies.
When Ben is pushed to put the Omnitrix on again in order to find their grandpa, Gwen is right beside him offering advise and saving his butt with her abilities. She's the reason Ben offers Kevin Levin (someone who formerly tried to kill him) a second chance and she is usually the reason that they don't jump head first into any given situation. During this time Gwen encountered Charmcaster several more times and the two almost got along once, but in the end Charmaster's lust for power kept them from ever forging anything close to a friendship. Gwen continued to be Charmcaster's biggest enemy and Gwen continued to study magic and become better at it. For Gwen, Charmcaster became less of a threat and more of a really big pain in the butt.
Once things calm down Gwen decides to take time off from crime fighting (Or at least that's what she says) in order to go to college early so that she can 'see what it is they are protecting'. So she and Kevin leave for school and work, leaving Ben alone with a new partner and shenanigans different from those the three shared.
While at college Gwen started anonymously doing heroing on a much smaller scale then she had been doing before in the guise of Lucky Girl. She would also occasionally return to help Ben or text with his new partner Rook.
Towards the end of the latest series a familiar face arrived in the college, but this time not bent on revenge or world domination. Hex became a new professor and, in fact, one of Gwen's favorites. Soon behind him Charmcaster arrived and, eventually, tried to gain all the power of Bazel. This didn't work however as Gwen devised a way to counter Charmcaster's spell. (This would be where I'm bringing her in at)
PERSONALITY:
From a very young age Gwen has always been a precocious young girl. Her exceptional intelligence makes it difficult to argue with her due to the fact that often times she’s actually right about whatever the argument is over. For Gwen, knowledge has always been the important factor in any equation and its imperative for her to know as much as she can about anything she’s dealing with. An important example of this is when she got hold of Charmcaster’s spell book. While most people might have simply put it in a desk and forgotten about it, Gwen chose to learn from it and even expand on the knowledge found inside it. She quickly became an expert sorceress who could not only face other spell casters who had been using the art their whole life, but surpass them in both her ingenuity and her knowledge of the craft.
Gwen is, if pressed for a defining word, a prodigy in everything she does. She is quick to learn, master and even perfect pretty much anything she sets her mind to. This is the case with her studies, with magic, with her abilities as an Anodite (between Alien Force/Ultimate Alien and Omniverse she has already mastered being able to at least partially control switching between her Anodite form and her human form. Something her grandmother said would take a verylong time to do) and even in hand to hand combat.
When it comes to hand to hand combat and physical prowess Gwen is surprisingly adept for someone as focused on their intelligence as she is. She is a black belt and uses her martial arts abilities constantly when fighting (she even taught Ben some karate). Because of her years of training as well as her incredible intelligence Gwen is an incredibly disciplined person and more apt to think things through before doing them. This is something that has sometimes caused her to be unable to act or caused arguments between her and her cousin Ben.
Even so, Gwen is a guiding force for Ben. Often times, working to keep Ben out of trouble when he runs headlong into danger or started a ‘plan’ without thinking it through first. Early on she would do this with their grandpa Max, something that brought the pair closer, and in fact brought her closer to her cousin Ben. Because of the trio’s adventures Gwen became more confident in herself and more willing to take criticism as well as more willing to forgive. Something that showed in the faith that she showed in Kevin Levin, a young boy who was once the Tennyson’s enemy and later became both Ben’s best friend and Gwen’s longtime boyfriend (and presumably later in the timeline, husband/life partner/Seriously, they don't say, we just know they are still together in the future). Gwen was able to see good in Kevin through their chance encounters after he was banished to the null void and, when the three were once again united in the regular world, continued to have faith in him no matter what happened.
Gwen isn’t swayed by a pretty face or fame. She’s more interested in an Ivy League school and an excellent professor then she is in the latest video game or movie trend. Throughout the series Gwen is able to keep her head when Ben has lost his over a celebrity or brand new Sumo Slamers. This is something that has proved to be a life saver many times over.
Gwen isn’t without faults though. She in fact has many which can almost be debilitating. Gwen doesn’t want to disappoint the people who care about her. This can lead to her being almost ineffectual when faced with a decision that might upset those who care about her or want the best for her (especially family). The best example of this comes from the episode ‘What little girls are made of’ where Gwen and Ben’s grandmother Verdona arrives and wants to take Gwen to Anodine to teach her the ways of being an Anodite. Gwen feels as if she cannot say no to her and is almost taken to Anodine even though she doesn’t really want to go. She does this because everyone she cares about seems to want her to go and she isn’t able to collect the courage to tell everyone that she wants to stay on Earth and just be an Earth girl.
It was only by Kevin’s expressing that he didn’t want her to leave that she was able to find the courage to tell her grandmother no. This resulted in a rather violent fight between her grandmother and Gwen, Kevin and Ben. Because of both Kevin and Ben’s faith in her and their willingness to show how much they didn’t want her to leave, and how much they valued her; she was able to stay strong in her conviction not to go with her grandmother.
Like all Tennysons, Gwen is stubborn to the point of being bullheaded. Even when she is wrong (a rarity for Gwen) she will often times follow through and continue an argument. Through the years she’s learned to control her stubbornness to a point, but with the two peers she is closest with (Ben and Kevin) she can be just as bullheaded and unwavering as she was when she was a young girl.
In the end however, Gwen is incredibly loyal. She believes in the good in people (or at least tries to) and will always be there for her cousin and friends no matter what. While at the beginning of Omniverse she did leave Ben to his own devices in order to attend early enrollment in an Ivy League college, she is always a phone call or drive into Bellwood away.
POWER:
Gwendolyn is part Anodite on her grandmother’s side. In her grandmother’s own words she is a half breed who possesses ‘the spark’ or the ability to use Anodite abilities.
The Anodite race is a race comprised entirely of mana or life energy. The beings themselves have a body that is physically compressed mana and are incredibly powerful. Due to the fact that Gwendolyn is an untrained Anodite she is exponentially less powerful than other Anodites.
Anodite heritage
(Primary)
Mana Manipulation – Mana is the life energy that permeates and makes up all living things. Gwendolyn has the ability to manipulate that energy in order to create objects in the form of energy constructs. These objects take on a pink tint and are generally shown to have a glass, metal or light-like look. There is not really a limit to what Gwendolyn can create with mana and she has created things such as energy panes, balls of pure energy which she has used to offensively, shields, hammers, helmets, battering rams, beams of solid energy to grab and throw enemies or objects, platforms, and stairs. Gwendolyn has also been known to synchronize her karate ability with what she uses to cause offensive damage.

Example 2
Example 3
Mana Absorption – Anodites inherently have the ability to absorb the mana around them from all living things in the vicinity. Gwendolyn does not use this ability often.
Mana Detection/Clairvoyance – Mana detection is the use of a living being’s unique mana signature to track them. This ability can only be used when Gwendolyn has an object that the person who she is attempting to detect has once help or used. It is also stronger the more recent it has been used by that person.
Mana detection can also be used to detect if there are any living beings in a vicinity. This is done by looking for a general appearance of mana within an area. The ability will, however, pick up the mana signature of all living things in that area and not only people or enemies. This means that should an enemy be in a garden or forest or an area where there is other life she will also pick up the signatures of the other life as well.
Gwendolyn has been known to utilize similar techniques to those of her mana tracking ability to discern information about others without the use of the typical five senses. In order to do this Gwendolyn still requires an object that person was using or owns. This is generally done in cases such as missing people or enemies that they don’t know much about.
Teleportation – Teleportation is the act of moving matter from one place to another instantaneously. Anodites have the ability to teleport from one place to another. The range for a fully grown Anodite who has mastered their powers seems to be limitless as Verdona (Gwen’s grandmother) teleported from Anodine to Earth; however as Gwendolyn is a young and untrained Anodite who generally uses teleportation to move the group out of overly dangerous situations. This is something that tends to occur rarely rather than frequently and she has never utilized it for far range.
Telekinesis – Telekinesis is the movement of living and nonliving materials with the mind. This is something that Gwendolyn has been seen both practicing and using in practical application. While small objects are easier for her to move, the larger the object is the harder it is to keep control and actually levitate it becomes. While Gwendolyn may have no trouble lifting a pencil or notebook or even a small and light person; she would have a great amount of trouble lifting away a boulder, heavy metal door, or average sized and weighted person.
Healing – In general, healing is known as the repairing of injuries to the body which are faster than that of traditional medical aid. To date, Gwendolyn has been capable of healing scratching, scrapes and minor to moderate injuries.
Anodite transformation – Anodites are beings who’s bodies are comprised of pure energy. Because of this they are capable of creating any type of body that they desire. Gwendolyn however is untrained in this ability and has only fully transformed from her human form to her Anodite for a few times. Because Gwendolyn is untrained being in her Anodite form is considered very dangerous for her as the chance of her losing herself to the pure power of the form is extremely possible.
As of the series Ben Ten: Omniverse Gwendolyn has been able to control a hybrid form which combines both her Anodite form and her human form. There seems to be no possibility of her losing herself in this form as she uses it whenever she is working as ‘Lucky Girl’ her superhero alter ego at Fredkin University. She also often uses it when she is helping Ben defend the world from aliens, but not necessarily all the time.
Flight –Anodites have the ability to fly without the aid of tech or spells. Gwen, on the other hand does not have this ability mastered. Because she is self taught it is one of the abilities that she needs outside aid to do. As of the episode ‘Mystery Incorporeal’ Gwendolyn has the charm of Bazel for flight in her possession. When she transforms into her hybrid form known as ‘Lucky Girl’ it is attached to her right wrist guard and she is able to utilize the power of flight.
Magic tier
(Secondary)
Magic – There are some within the Ben Ten world who possess the ability to manipulate the mana of the world in order to cast spells. Gwen is one of those people. The fact that she also recently (within the past year) discovered that she is an alien being of pure energy hasn’t hurt that ability at all.
Gwendolyn has the ability to utilize both memorized spells and those that have been bound in spellbooks. The spells she uses are not as strong and because of the fact that she is entirely self taught from a book that was confiscated from the spellcaster Charmcaster when Gwendolyn was ten there are many things that Gwendolyn cannot do. Her offensive magic in very weak as she relies more on her Anodite abilities. What she lacks in ability she makes up for in creativity however. She has been known to utilize spells and misdirection in order to get out of situations that other casters were not able to think their way out of with ability alone.
Being intelligent, Gwen would be able to understand and possibly use magic from other worlds, but that would only be if that magic is compatible with the magic of her own universe. For example, she would not be able to use Clow Reed’s abilities as the source of CLAMP magic is based off a different component rather than anything similar to that of the Ben Ten reality.

[It’s taken Gwendolyn quite some time to look through as much of the social media network as she has. She has questions, and while she has been quiet for some time before she decided to come to the network for answers, she’s not planning on being exactly quiet now.
Although there is a pause as she takes a moment to collect her thoughts before addressing what can only be assumed as the populous at large.]
I know this is probably something that comes over the network a lot, but I’m looking for any information about this dimension and how to get back to my own.
[There’s a pause again as she tries to decide exactly how much she wants to reveal. On one hand it could encourage others to help her, on the other hand it’s kinda personal.]
I’ve read through the network, but if there’s anything extra that anyone could tell me I’d be grateful. Also, if anyone knows of a Ben Tennyson or Kevin Levin here could you let them know that Gwendolyn is looking for them. It’s nothing bad, I swear!
